Notes from Firstlight
The world keeps growing.
New adventures, useful improvements and the work behind a persistent shared world.
5 Oct 2026 · Movement patch · not liveSmoother roads
Click-walking now keeps a bounded set of requests in flight, position updates no longer compete with one another, and the connection indicator shows movement round-trip time. Replayed movement commands are rejected. Server speed limits remain enforced while cheat scoring tolerates short network bursts. Automated latency and abuse tests pass; human playtesting and live rollout remain pending.
5 Oct 2026 · Development patch · not liveLights on the Road
Raise an original Cinderseed into a Lanternling and Waylight through a three-part journey with Luma. Optional daily care, saved bond, three pixel forms and show/hide controls add companionship without bought power. The field journal adds 38 original creature notes, research honors and habitat routes. Daily hunt offers now stay fixed after acceptance. Visual playtesting and rollout are pending.

3 Oct 2026 · R20 development previewThe northern road and a key you own
An isolated candidate adds Highpass, Frostmere, Glassmarsh, Ashfall and Starfall, a practice arena and two more private expeditions. The catalogue now has 60 quests, 32 creatures, 40 townsfolk and 24 recipes. Seven free disciplines, level-20 progression, collections, private character-key recovery and stable-account weekly reward records are under test. New reward pilots cap reviewed accounts at 100 and retain pending signatures before finalized reconciliation. Automated journeys expose pacing and gold-economy work still needed; this is not a finished-game, live-deployment or token-launch announcement.
3 Oct 2026 · R19People of the frontier
Twenty-four original townsfolk sprites give each settlement its own cast. Dialogue portraits use the same character artwork, and conversations separate quest choices, shops and local services. Choose another unlocked quest even while one is active; the server checks the person, location and prerequisites. The new town guide searches all twenty-five townsfolk by name, place, service, item or quest, using actual game shops and workshops. The homepage introduces the cast, and the handbook now explains how to use conversations and find the right service. ASCEND remains pre-launch; token purchases add no reward eligibility.
3 Oct 2026 · R18Wear your progress
Mirehide Coat, Copperfall Mail and Sentinel Plate now change your character’s appearance, with 96 original walking and combat frames. Shared scaling keeps the character grounded and proportional through movement and hits. The homepage becomes a compact classic game portal with an illustrated opening, actual gameplay and a clear traveller bulletin. Preview the same armor sprites on the website. The handbook groups practical chapters by purpose and explains the playable game, visible equipment, planned Solana/pump.fun token and remaining milestones. Token and real payouts remain pre-launch.
3 Oct 2026 · R17Town & trade
A clearer dark website pairs larger text with original artwork and actual gameplay. Search the creature guide by name or habitat and preview sixteen four-pose families, including the new Bog Angler, Fen Lantern Moth, Fen Gloomcap and Watch Rune Stalker. In the player market, search all offers by item or seller, filter equipment and materials, set a whole-lot budget and compare prices per unit. Sorting applies before pagination. The wider Social window and updated handbook explain the complete trade flow and the separate, still pre-launch ASCEND model.
3 Oct 2026 · R16A better kit for the road
The equipment guide is now a compact browser of 25 items with filters, search, actual vendor prices and crafting stations. Four more original creature families receive idle, breathing, hit and attack artwork. Nearby healers restore health for three game gold, with safe rest courts at frontier hosts. Roofs and trees fade when they cover your character. Healer routes finish on safe paving, and click-to-walk waits for delayed server replies. Larger body copy, direct equipment navigation and updated handbook chapters make the world easier to understand.
3 Oct 2026 · R15Roads and wilds
A compact illustrated homepage, selectable world atlas and explicit in-game map actions connect the website to the adventure. Held basic attacks repeat at the normal cooldown. Four deepwood creature families gain original four-pose artwork.
3 Oct 2026 · R14Field notes from the mire
Four frontier creatures now have original idle, alternate idle, hurt and attack sprites, with consistent proportions and a pose viewer in the world guide. The token page has a compact layout, an interactive funded-week example and a clear official launch record. Project docs explain the game at a glance, handbook searches understand common player terms, and short Space/Q presses reliably trigger combat. Smaller road props and townsfolk, collapsible adventure hints and a corrected completed-quest label keep the field clearer.
3 Oct 2026 · R13The Firstlight journey
A rebuilt classic game website gives the adventure room to breathe, with three new original world illustrations, a simpler first-evening guide and a clear separate reward explanation. The handbook is searchable, with chapter contents and more readable text. In the game, choose Walk into weapon range for a selected enemy, then attack manually. Press F or use the nearby-drop button to collect loot. The first-adventure guide now explains equipment, collection and returning to Luma.
3 Oct 2026 · R12The adventurer’s kit
Thirty-three original item sprites and three profession badges now appear across inventory, shops, crafting and supported world drops. A rebuilt backpack has item inspection, equipment comparisons, supply filters and explicit equip actions. The journal separates active, available and completed quests, remembers a tracked objective and opens its route on the map. A shorter website opening, clearer text and a new equipment field guide connect the actual weapons and recipes to the game.
2 Oct 2026 · R11Townsfolk, a clearer trail and a classic new home
A darker, more compact website with new night-time Firstlight artwork and four original townsfolk portraits. The project overview now explains the playable game and its separate planned token. In-game dialogue shows portraits, objectives and rewards; E talks to nearby townsfolk. The guide finds creature habitats and resource sites, then highlights the next unlocked passage or quest destination on the map. Sound, photos and controls move into More, leaving a smaller command bar. Window clicks no longer pass through into the world.
2 Oct 2026 · R10A new home for the adventure
A redesigned website with original Firstlight and Sunken Sanctum illustrations, a browsable world atlas and an eight-chapter player handbook. New ground materials add texture to the playable world, and a compact combat panel keeps more of the battlefield visible. Consistent navigation connects the soundtrack, economy report and clear ASCEND launch information.
Recent updatesRoads & wilds — October 2026
A new Firstlight party illustration leads a compact dark game portal. The world guide now has a selectable atlas with connected roads and shareable location links. In-game maps offer Walk here, Stop walking and explicit Talk or Travel actions on arrival. Hold Space or the attack button to repeat basic strikes at the normal cooldown; release to stop. Mire Brute, Rune Mireling, Elderfen Rustback and Ironwood Lashling gain four original poses each. The handbook explains the new controls. This remains a playable alpha; ASCEND and funded token payouts are not live.
Recent updatesThe town exchange - October 2026
Open Social, then Player market. Saved characters can list unequipped items from safe town paving for a fixed whole-lot gold price. Listings last seven days and can sell while you are offline. Review the price before buying; collect gold or return unsold items in My orders. Each character can hold ten unsettled orders. A lost save acknowledgement holds the exchange safely until it can be confirmed. Character blocks apply to purchases. This is a gold-only game market: it awards no ASCEND points, charges no listing fee and offers no gold-to-token withdrawal.
Recent updatesFellow adventurers - October 2026
Save your character and open Social, then Friends. Meet nearby adventurers, exchange requests and keep up to 50 accepted friends across reconnects. Requests expire after 24 hours. Online friends show their map and can whisper across the world. Up to 100 character blocks remove friendship and stop new messages and invitations in both directions. Shared-world characters and existing party/guild memberships remain visible. Blocks stay saved; unblocking does not restore a friendship. Contact storage failures stop communication until preferences recover. These features are free and do not change token eligibility or rewards.
Recent updatesSunken Sanctum - October 2026
Level-eight adventurers who cleared the Broken Gate can start a private expedition from the safe Echo Rift landing. Every member confirms before a 20-minute, three-stage run. Parties have isolated monsters, loot, damage and nearby chat. Leaving or disconnecting returns a character to the landing with earned progress; remaining members may continue. The final Warden awards ordinary game loot. New original beacon art, larger enemy hit areas, H for herbs and T for the nearest target improve field controls. Token rewards remain paused.
Recent updatesRift Warden - October 2026
Echo Rift now has a repeatable shared level-eight boss with fixed impact tiles, cross and ring attacks, a faster final phase and original three-pose artwork. Active nearby fighters divide a fixed XP/gold pool and receive one Rift Core each. Two quests lead into two level-ten forge recipes. Compact attack, art and herb controls leave the arena visible, and the entrance is a protected recovery landing. This shared encounter is not an instanced dungeon and does not award ASCEND contribution points.

ArchiveTrading and guilds — October 2026
Saved characters can trade game items and gold on safe town paving. Both players review the same offer, changes reset approval, and both balances save together. Persistent guilds hold up to 32 members with invitations, leadership transfer and guild chat. Find Party, Guild and Trade under Social [P]. Five supply quests now name distinct delivery recipients, with correct map markers and hand-in validation. No token is needed for any social feature.
ArchiveSolana launch candidate — October 2026
Ascend Online / ASCEND and the funded weekly model are confirmed. Arc Vault verifies Solana ownership with a message signature; reviewed weekly manifests use capped contributions, case-sensitive wallet records and integer allocation. Treasury transfers require operator signing, and paid status requires finalized on-chain proof. Click-to-walk now routes around props; the adventure guide shows your next task; quest hand-ins require the nearby giver. No mainnet token or real payout is claimed.
Archivepump.fun launch preparation — October 2026
The launch direction is pump.fun. Original token artwork, draft metadata and a public token-status page are prepared. No official token address exists yet. Wallet linking, contribution accrual and payout preparation are disabled on the public server until the selected network integration is ready. The NPC and world-object click targets now align with their sprites.
ArchiveThe gates are open — October 2026
Ascend Online is live at ascendonline.quest. Explore richer forests and marshes with sixteen new scenery pieces and new art for Bog Anglers, Lantern Moths, Gloomcaps and Rune Stalkers. Characters save across server restarts, and private recovery codes let you return on another device. Seven original music themes are available in game and on the soundtrack page. Live token payouts are not yet enabled.
ArchiveOriginal world art, score and deeper progression — October 2026
Five original sprite atlases, seven instrumental themes and twelve sound effects are integrated into the game. Equipment now has armor, head, offhand and accessory slots, nine weapons and eleven recipes. Arc Vault gains persistent storage. Eight new quests track hunting, travel and crafting, while party chat and whispers extend social play. The local preview saves characters through restarts. This remains an alpha; full classic-MMO content and a public funded reward launch are unfinished.
ArchiveHistorical: Robinhood rewards and social progression — October 2026
Arc Vault now verifies EVM wallet signatures and displays funded claim periods. Server-owned contributions, persistent reward records, a tested ERC20 escrow, four-player parties, profession XP, healing herbs and usable laptop chat replace the previous preview-only economy. No public token launch or live payout is claimed.

ArchivePublic economy report
A redacted /economy page and /public/economy-report endpoint now summarize runtime reward and shop activity without player ids, wallet data, chat, or moderation details.

ArchivePostgres deployment readiness
Local Postgres compose support, a db:check script, expanded env examples, and deployment notes now verify the same schema path used by the realtime server.
ArchiveProduction email delivery support
Passwordless login codes now use an email sender adapter with console delivery for dev/test and Resend delivery for production configuration.
ArchiveOAuth/OIDC account recovery backend
The server can now start provider authorization, exchange callback codes, link a provider identity to an existing session, and recover linked accounts through repository-backed identity lookup.
ArchiveOAuth account recovery UI
The account panel can start OAuth linking for an active character, and the entry screen can recover an OAuth-linked account through a short-lived handoff token when a provider is configured.
ArchiveProduction deployment preflight
A deploy:check script now validates production mode, Postgres, admin and CORS settings, Resend, public web URLs, and optional OAuth config before release.
ArchiveCombat Depth V0
Monsters now retaliate with configured damage, town floor tiles protect players from hostile retaliation, defeated players respawn at the current Layer entrance, and player HP/damage feedback is visible in the Phaser view.
ArchiveEquipment and Gate loop depth
Mirel now sells a Field Blade upgrade, Gate Sentinel drops a Gate Relic and rare Sentinel Edge, and inventory/shop panels show weapon attack bonuses with comparison hints.
