The northern road & after level 20

Follow the connected northern quest arc and keep playing without bought power.

2 minute read · Development preview guide

A road beyond Elderfen

Complete Cairn’s Sentinel Oath, then accept The Road Beyond the Bells. Travel north from Elderfen Watch to Highpass Trail. Arlen and courier Pip lead you to Frostmere, where Yara is reopening the winter supply road.

The main route continues east through Glassmarsh, up Ashfall Ridge and into Starfall Observatory. Side tasks teach northern crafting, recovery supplies and the Lantern Arena. Follow the journal prerequisites and return to the named recipient; a delivery contact may differ from the quest giver.

Earn summit equipment

Frostmere supplies level-12 weapons and mail. Glassmarsh adds Skyglass materials and headwear. Ashfall enemies drop level-16 weapons; Ember Hearts forge armor and shields. Astral Lenses combine with earned resources to create level-20 weapons and a signet.

Forager, Miner and Smith ranks matter independently of combat level. Gather and craft to raise them; no token purchase substitutes for materials, rank or a boss reward. Use the armory to inspect exact recipes and sources.

Other reasons to return

  • Explore all public maps and complete the creature and map discovery collection.
  • Try another discipline with a trainer while keeping earned mastery.
  • Build profession ranks, craft another weapon path or trade useful items for gold.
  • Replay private expeditions with up to four friends.
  • Accept a consent-based match at Lantern Arena. Arena practice has no wager, loot loss, XP, gold or contribution reward.

What still needs proving

This development preview contains 18 public maps, three private expeditions, 63 authored quests, 38 creatures, 43 townsfolk, 26 recipes and seven disciplines. Those counts do not prove a 15–25-hour adventure or mature MMO depth.

A route-aware command simulation completes the content much faster than that target and identifies surplus gold and uneven solo survival. Real-player onboarding, encounter balance, repeat-play value, access needs and multiplayer soak testing remain release gates. New art coverage is still being reviewed.
